The Front Line Of The Future

The Master of Professional Science in Urban Sustainability and Resilience is a STEM-designated program designed to equip students and practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to shape sustainable and resilient communities for weathering climate change and urbanization challenges. 

This interdisciplinary program offers courses that are taught jointly by esteemed faculties from the Department of Geography & Sustainable Development and the School of Architecture. These courses combine lessons from sustainable urban development, resilient community design, geographic data analytics, climate risk management, sea-level rise and coastal hazard mitigation, and urban planning policy decision-making among others.  

Graduates will have a sound understanding of the uneven impacts of climate change on diverse communities and geographies and be able to develop strategies and pathways toward preserving critical ecosystems and fostering sustainable and resilient community solutions.
